Since I’ve started my (2) new job(s) I’ve been spending a good amount of time zipping around in my car listening to Hot97, which is generally awesome (THROWBACK LUNCH 4EVER), but seriously you guys let’s drop the pretense and just rename this shit Drake97. Literally every other song includes Drake complaining about something or just generally being boring and I almost feel like I’m being stockholm syndrome’d or something because I’m finding that most of my brainspace is being taken up by trying to figure out why I hate this guy so much. Or maybe I love him and I’m super in denial?GET OUT OF MY BRAIN, DRAKE. 

Anyway, one of the upsides of listening to the radio all the time is being forced to listen to things I would otherwise be too lazy to. Including, but not limited to, J Cole. I had had a few of his mixtapes in my computer for awhile, and then got his album but just never got around to listening to it for some reason. And then I heard Work Out and the Jam found above and fell in love. These two in particular are just poppy enough that they’re super fun but stop before it gets boring and/or unlistenable. 

Also, I’ve been working on a theory that rappers are generally bad at name dropping athletes (recent examples: Matt Leinart on ‘So Appalled’, Eli Manning on ‘Roman’s Revenge’) but this one is GREAT. Ovechkin? A HOCKEY REFERENCE? Perfect. Love it.
